On a very hot August 8, the department of International English held our Open Seminar. We welcomed high school students to our campus and made sure we provided a program that allowed them to understand our campus as well as our courses and teaching styles. Our theme for the day was "Campus World Tour - 脱出ゲーム". During the classes to come, students would have to solve quizzes and problems in order to escape, and move on to the next class. But first there was registration in Hinohara Hall (the place where students eat lunch or hang out).（8月8日にオープンセミナーを実施しました。今年の国際英語学科は、新しいテーマでセミナーを行いました。題して、「Campus World Tour - 脱出ゲーム」。キャンパスのさまざまな場所を巡りながら、英語や文化に関するクイズに挑戦してもらうというものです。）

Osaki sensei led the first class in our wonderful library. Students enter through the library arch that is home for HJU's "wise owl". The first class concentrated on storytelling with a focus on finding rhythm in language. This was followed by a trip to the glorious chapel with its stained glass windows. There the students learned all about "paradise" with Awazuhara sensei. All students managed to escape from the library and from Awazuhara sensei's paradise!（1つ目の授業は、知識の象徴フクロウが見守る大学図書館で、ストーリーテリングを通してことばのリズムを学びました。続いて、本学が誇る美しいチャペルでパラダイスの謎について謎解きをしました。）

Lunch was in the canteen, and students stayed there for a class with Isobe sensei that centred on Harry Potter and all things magical.（昼食の後は、そのまま学生食堂で『ハリー・ポッター』の不思議な魔法の世界を旅しました。）

After her class, Isobe sensei led the students to Herbert sensei's office, where students could learn all about languages (especially English) and the world. They also got to experience a university "kenkyuushitsu" for the first time. Once again, the students were successful in their quest to reach the final destination on campus for the day, a traditional classroom.（次の授業では、授業担当者の教員の研究室に移動し、言語、特に英語と世界について学び、見事謎解きにも成功しました。）

In the final class, students spent time studying American culture through a Disney lens with Toda sensei. After such a diverse day, all that was left was for the students to have a short interview.（最後の授業では、ディズニー映画とアメリカ文化について学んでもらいました。その後、各教員が高校生一人ひとりと面談をし、セミナーの感想などをお聞きました。）

We had a great day with the high school students and we hope they all enjoyed their "Campus World Tour". After a full day of classes, students had been able to not only experience university-style classes, but also experience the campus itself. We are looking forward to them joining our HJU World.（キャンパス巡りながら、大学の学びとキャンパスライフを体験できる一日、楽しんでもらえたのではないかと思います。HJU Worldで皆さんとまたお会いできるのを楽しみにしていますね。）
