Each year students in the Department of International English plan and hold an event called Orientation on Campus. This event is designed to allow our new first-year students to get to know their seniors and the department staff a little better in fun, informal surroundings.（毎年恒例の、オリエンテーション・オン・キャンパス（オリキャン）が開催されました。新入生が大学生活に慣れ、同級生、先輩、教員との交流の場ができるよう、上級生のオリキャンリーダーが楽しい企画で盛り上げてくれました。）

This year we had so much fun and the students who planned our annual event did a wonderful job. After greetings, and a photo session the morning session began. First, the students played a game called "Truth or Lies" in which they had to guess which teachers were telling true stories and which were telling lies. （開会式の後、学科に分かれ、学科オリジナルのイベントを楽しみました。まずは、教員が自己紹介。嘘の話をしている教員と、本当の話をしている教員を当てるゲームを行いました。）

Following this, we all got active and played a variety of fun games that involved balance, and a little gentle running for the older staff!（体を動かすゲームもあり、皆いい汗をかきました。）

We took a well-earned break for lunch, and returned in the afternoon for more games in which students found out all sorts of things about their teachers, and then we enjoyed some games connected to music and the English language.（ランチの後は頭脳戦。学科の教員に関するクイズや音楽の歌詞を使ったゲームで盛り上がりました。もちろん英語で。）

The day finished with an assembly, some quiet moments of reflection, and lots more photos.

It was a very fun day, and it was wonderful to get to know the students even better than we do now. And the success of the day was all down to the hard (and imaginative) work of our students who acted as Orientation on Campus Leaders.
