Students on our Kaigai Kenshu 1 program have arrived in California. Here are their first impressions in their first report.（春休み中に実施したカリフォルニア2週間の研修の様子をお届けします。）

2月8日、私たちはアメリカのサンディエゴ空港に向けて広島空港を出発しました。 広島・東京はどちらも雪が降っており、飛行機の遅れが出るなどありましたが、最終的に無事日本を出発することが出来ました。 アメリカに到着すると、日本とは真逆で半袖でも過ごせる程の温かさでした。 サンディエゴ空港で他大学の学生と合流し、その後バスでカリフォルニア州立大学に向かいました。 
On February 8th, we left Hiroshima Airport for San Diego Airport in the United States. It was snowing in both Hiroshima and Tokyo, and our flights were a little delayed, but we were finally able to leave Japan safely. When we arrived in the U.S., it was warm enough to wear short sleeves, which was the opposite of Japan. At San Diego Airport, we met students from other universities, and then we went by bus to California State University.

その後、ホストファミリーと対面しました。 初めての海外研修ということもあり緊張していましたが、とてもフレンドリーな方で安心しました。 その後一緒にIN-N-OUTでハンバーガーを食べ、買い物をしてから家に向かいました。 夕食後、私たちは日本から持ってきたお土産を手渡しました。ホストファミリーはとても喜んでくれました。 食べ物以外にもポーチ、風呂敷、筆箱など日常的に使えるものを考えて購入したので、喜んでくれてとても嬉しかったです。
After that, we met our host families. Since it was our first time on an overseas study trip, we were nervous, but they were very friendly and made us feel comfortable. Then we had hamburgers together at IN-N-OUT and went shopping before going home. After dinner, we gave the souvenirs we brought from Japan to them. The host family was very happy. We bought not only food, but also pouches, furoshiki, pencil cases, and other things they can use every day. They were happy, and that made us very glad.

次の日は大学でwelcome＆キャンパスツアーがありました。 私たちはグループに別れて、大学生に大学を案内してもらいました。 カリフォルニア州立大学は様々な学科があるためとても広く、大学生からは大学での過ごし方やおすすめの場所を教えて貰えたのでとても楽しかったです。
The next day, there was a welcome and campus tour at the university. We were divided into groups, and university students showed us around the campus. California State University is very big because it has many departments. The students told us how to spend time at university and recommended places to visit, so it was very fun.

On the campus tour, we saw a bronze puma statue that was the model for the university’s mascot.

アメリカに到着してからは、1日があっという間に過ぎていくのを感じました。授業の最後に現地の日本人サポーターの方から目標を立てて1日1日を大切にするようアドバイスを貰いました。このプログラムの間、一瞬一瞬を楽しみ、できるだけたくさん学び、忘れられない思い出を作りたいです。
Since we arrived in the U.S., each day has passed very quickly. Through these interactions, I was able to learn about differences in daily life and culture. At the end of the class, the local Japanese supporters gave advice to set goals and make each day important. We are excited to enjoy every moment, learn as much as we can, and make unforgettable memories during this program.
