It is that time of year again - the start of a new academic year.

The campus was looking good, in spite of the rain, in order to welcome our new first-year students. The cherry blossoms gathered in puddles and beside moss, as well as clinging to the trees with all their might. The start of the year is always an exciting time - meeting new faces, and seeing our campus anew through their eyes. We welcome them all.（入学式の日は、雨と桜が新一年生を迎えてくれました。新しい仲間を迎えて、国際英語学科の教員一同、嬉しく思います。）

We are sure that our new students will be feeling a mixture of emotions - excitement and nervousness among others - but we are sure that they will soon get used to their new life as university students. Of course, they'll probably miss some of their old friends, but now is the time to make new friends and discover what university life has to offer.（新入生たちは、期待と不安でいっぱいの様子でしたが、きっとすぐに新しい友人と一緒に大学生活を楽しめるはずです。）

The Department of International English has many things to offer, and we have something to suit all tastes. We truly welcome all our new students, and the staff and "senior students" look forward to making the new first-year students feel at home. Please feel free to ask anything at anytime.
